Why play at the “Box” instead of the local Monroe County League?
While there is a Monroe County League, we choose to run a developmental “in-house” program that stays in Webster. There are several reasons for this. First, it is convenient. Every game is a “home” game, at the same place every week. While the Monroe County League is well run,our program is designed to give young families nothing more than a 10-15 minute drive to a game or practice. Young families have enough on their plate on any given night without the added stress of driving across the County for a youth sports event. Second, we do not have to rely on other towns to provide field space, directions, or referees. Third, we can ensure the balanced team concept. We can create games that ensure player development rather than winning at all costs. Experience shows that when we start playing other Towns at the youth level, the focus innocuously turns toward winning and not developing sound fundamentals and most of all , away from playing the game the way it was meant to be played… playin
