Why people not i intrest to do their studies in tourism and hospitality industry?
There are reasons and these reasons are continuing factors not to motivate professional studies and inputs in a greater part of the tourism and hospitality industry. There has been quite a mismatch in demand and supply – quality and quantity wise, in India. Majority of the industry is un-organised and efforts put in by the government and the industry themselves, to improve the situation, are insufficient. Of late, a kind of awakening is happening but appears to be in haphazard manner. The personnel are not adequately paid and the working conditions including duty hours are not staff friendly. The industry as a whole has their own list of problems and this being a state subject, each state government has their own priorities. Perhaps, policy makers feel that solutions to this problem can wait for some more time.
