Why people like western culture in India? Is it necessary?
People like to emulate the dominate culture of the era. If you do a little research you would find that the same thing occur ed when Rome was the dominant world culture. It is likely that not all Indians like western culture, more likely it is the younger generation that wants to change the expectations of what their culture requires of them. There have been several documentaries here in U.S. of the changing social structures in India. Children do not want to burdened looking after their elderly parents. This is a sad but real effect of where western culture has gone. It is also one of the tenets that the younger generation of Indians are adopting. India has been isolated for many generations. It is only now with the information age seeing what the rest of the world has to offer. It is not only India that is experiencing this. Japan also is having the same problems with foreign ideas entering a relatively closed society. Attitudes may change when and if western culture is no longer dom
