Why organic cotton vs conventional cotton?
Certified organic cotton must meet stringent guidelines and be grown in fields which have been pesticide-free for a minimum of 3 years. Organics are especially important for babies and children as they are more sensitive in general, and their systems are more susceptible to the health risks associated with chemicals and pesticides. Conventional cotton uses approximately 25% of the world’s insecticides and more than 10% of the pesticides. It takes about 1/3 of a pound of chemicals (pesticides and fertilizers) to grow enough cotton to make one t-shirt. The truth is, there are so many ways to answer this question.
