On the face of it, custom clothing makes more sense for grown women, rather than young girls. A grown woman may have body issues that would render a custom dress necessary so that she be most flattered. Girls, on the other hand, are much more likely to have uniform bodies that will be flattered by standard sizes. Even a plus-size girl can easily find a dress to fit and flatter her. Obviously, a wedding or other special occasion often demands a custom dress. For an elaborate wedding, a flower girl’s outfit will need to match the bride’s or bridesmaids’ dresses and it can be easier to have it made. Likewise, a dress for Easter, communion, or even a bat mitzvah (for older girls), adds to the occasion and makes it more memorable.
