Why only the snake is the source of representation of Kundalini energy while there many other animals that are more venomous and powerful than the snake ?
-Snake is one of the powerful reptile animals who always remain with Lord Shiva as a necklace. The purpose of awakening of the Kundalini energy is to let the Shakti meet with her consort Lord Shiva. – Lord Shiva has a serpent around his neck, Lord Vishnu sleeps on the coiled bed of Sheshnaga, Maa Kali (Mooladharvasini- one who lives in Mooladhara) and her other forms have garlands, girdles, armbands, anklebands of snakes. – It is said that although snakes are poisonous in nature, it rarely strikes children and a sadhaka is like a child who is urging Maa Shakti to come and meet with Lord Shiva.
