Why oh why won creationists accept that evolution is fact?
They’ve closed their minds to the evidence. Plus, the only thing they know about evolution is what they’ve learned through Anti-evolution, Creationist propoganda. Makes it hard to truly understant what evolution even is, when viewed through those filters. Why? Because Christianity is one of the many mind-memes of the world that is competing for mankind’s thought processes. One of the ways that it traps minds and perpetuates itself is by locking people in to the view that the Bible is God’s Word. As such, it is the Final Authority, and is (mostly) literally TRUE in all things. Evolution is incompatible with this view, which is why it arouses such a relatively violent response from hardcore Christians. For evolution to be true, then the Bible cannot be literally true. And if the Bible isn’t literally true, then the whole foundation of Christianity is shaken. This can not and will not be tolerated by the Christian mind meme, and a warfare of words – which is really a warfare over thought
