Shore Power uses utility grid electric power to provide cab comfort when a Shore Power plug-in parking site is available. Shore Power can be a viable idling management solution to reduce idling at truck stops, loading docks, or fleet terminals…. where electrical power is available. An onboard APU offers the freedom to park anytime and anywhere, until shore-power parking sites become readily available. Either (or both) of the Idling Management option packages can be cost effectively added to a vehicle equipped with the MorElectric Base System.
