Why not wait for the Task Force to report before taking any action?
This action will help clarify and focus the work of the Task Force with regard to ordination. It will point the church to the Book of Order as the language that must be addressed in any resolution of the conflict over standards. The proposed AI is essentially a housekeeping action that gives the Task Force a clearer field of vision as it moves into deliberation about homosexuality and ordination standards.
