Why not use tile backer/construction boards instead of Fastwarm® thermal insulation?

0

When used as floor insulation for underfloor heating applications over a cement screed or concrete sub-floor, this strengthened outer cement polymer coating is entirely unnecessary: in fact it reduces the overall thermal insulation property of the board – for a typical 10mm tile backer board there is only 8mm of thermal insulation. When tile backer boards are used in these type of solid sub-floor applications, the additional rigidity will not add any extra strength (the strength is in the cell structure composition of the inner thermal insulation).
