Why not use the RAN or EMPLOYEE ID Account Number as the unique identifier?
The Registration Account Number (RAN) or Employee ID Account Number refers to a computer account login (username or userid). Throughout the years, the Georgia Southern University Account Number has been re-cycled as people have left Georgia Southern University. The need for a permanent number is the focus of the Eagle ID Project. Therefore, the Eagle ID must be separate from the RAN or Employee ID Account Number. Additionally, the unique identifier must be capable of being generated and assigned to members of the Georgia Southern University community who do not receive Georgia Southern Account Numbers.
