Why not use hard-cell foam?

0

Hard cell foam is a slightly better insulator per inch which means you can use 20% less of it to acheive the same R value. But our 6″ walls and 12″ rafters are thick enough that we have plenty of room for enough of the open cell foam. Additional R value would not result any significant savings.
