Why not stage protests in front of stores that buy from puppy mills?
Stores like that don’t like to get bad press. —Mary Such protests certainly raise awareness of the problem and can have a significant impact. There is a website dedicated to this: petstorecruelty.org. As a practicing veterinarian, I am endlessly frustrated with the reluctance of my colleagues to speak out against wholesale dog breeding. I believe a campaign to educate veterinarians (yes, many are unaware) AND create a level of confidence in them to report sick animals to proper authorities would be helpful. Vets can put the fear of god into local retail pet shops—and into the breeders—IF we put our minds to it. —Lorna Thanks for your interest and your courage, Lorna.
