Why not simply buy a traditional electric fan?
A. For one thing, they are not that much cheaper and over the long run are actually much more expensive. The warranty is seldom any more than a year, and they are notorious for needing replacement after a few short seasons. Add to that as much as $20 per month operation costs. But the worst thing is that they occasionally catch fire. Solar fans have DC-volt, adjustable-rate motors that run cool and can last for decades – at no cost to operate, and they never catch fire.
