Why not just use an Internet Researcher?
Internet researchers, many of whom work from India, are indeed cheaper. Their services are frequently limited to scouring the Net in an attempt to find potential candidates who have posted their resumes to job boards, resulting in lists of potential candidates who are already looking to make an employment change; referred to in the industry as “active candidates”. Most recruiters use name generation research because they prefer to recruit from a pool of “passive candidates” – executives who are gainfully, successfully employed and not necessarily already looking for another opportunity. Although Bennett Research does scour the Net at the beginning of most projects, to obtain general information and to build a foundation for further intelligence gathering, we have found that complete research with telephone inquiries to employees in-the-know typically provide faster and more precise information.
