This is a comparatively young society founder by Ron Boender at Butterfly World, Florida, USA. Since its inception with a handful of members in 1991, it has grown into a fully international society with over 200 members residing in 26 countries. As with all groups of enthusiasts, the more participants the greater the exchange of ideas and knowledge. We are very lucky at this time to have a small but dedicated core of enthusiasts, both amateur and professional, involved in the plant world, but we do need more members to contribute, finance and share in the appreciation and preservation of this wonderful genus.
