Why not have the Written Quiz conducted by pronouncing the word and having spellers write the word, instead of the multiple-choice method?
The logistics of conducting a Written Quiz for a larger audience was taken into consideration as well as the varying ages of the participants. In order to give students of all ages a fair chance at all the questions in this preliminary round, we decided to have it in the written mode. Thus speed of answering is not a criterion for success as well as audibility difficulties in a larger auditorium does not hamper individuals’ chances of success.
