Why no support for condensing & hot-tap water heaters?
Support for gas condensing water heaters is needed. We’re looking at installing one to replace a standard gas water heater. Condensing heaters have efficiencies in the 90%s and prices about 1/3 of tankless heaters, so for those of us who heat water with natural gas, they’re very attractive. Hot taps are a popular kitchen option which also aren’t supported here. We use ours every day – but they consume a suprising amount of energy. We put ours on an appliance timer so it doesn’t heat during the hours when the household is typically asleep. The tank is small enough that the re-heat time in the morning is quite short.
