Why no Five Points record shop?
Winston Churchill once said: “This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” I’m sure he was talking about World War II, but it’s a fitting quote for my purposes, as this is my last edition of “Street Scenes.” Though I’ll remain a resident of Riverside, my burgeoning career has taken me northeast to Fernandina Beach, where I’ll continue to write, and like Churchill said, this is simply the end of the beginning. Maybe a revival of “Street Scenes” is in the cards for the future, maybe not, but regardless, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of writing about our picturesque and historic hamlet.
