Why Nepalese Civil Servants Suffer Obesity?
Overweight and obesity is an increasing global burden of public health. It is due to growing urbanization, less physical activities, eating fatty foods and adopting relaxed lifestyles. It is an unavoidable problem for the people of all ages, races, professions and socio-economic backgrounds. Diabetes, chronic heart diseases and disabilities are the major health consequences of obesity. Overweight and obesity problem is a challenging issue globally; nevertheless, developing countries contribute 85 percent of global burden of non communicable disease including weight born diseases. The highest prevalence of overweight is in Nauru (92.4 percent) and lowest (5.9 percent) is in Eritrea. The ratio of the burden of the problems is increasing in developing countries where overweight and under nutrition coexists in the societies. Civil servants are vulnerable groups for being overweight and obese as they spend more time sitting, consuming fast foods and snacks containing more fat, salt, sugar a
