You didn’t say where this light is. If you are speaking of the light on the ceiling fan, the reason it isn’t working is either A). The blue wire from the fan wasn’t connected to the black wire from the fan before hooking it up to the hot lead in the ceiling box, or B). The light kit wasn’t properly wired coming out of the bottom of the fan. If this light happens to be elsewhere in the room, perhaps another ceiling fixture or plugged into an outlet powered by the light switch, then the reason would be that the hot lead leading to that light in the ceiling box wasn’t hooked up when the fan was installed. I’ve tried to cover all the bases for you. Hope this helps.
