It was decided that the work required to make the Solaris 10 Operating System a paravirtualized OS would be unnecessarily invasive and introduce significant risk. The HVM is therefore required to run the Solaris 10 OS, but we have provided Solaris 10 PV drivers that provide performance very close to bare metal.
