UGCs are 100% recyclable into the new glass containers. This “closed-loop” process can be accomplished again and again without the glass container losing strength or integrity. Foreign materials can damage recycling equipment and cause recycled glass to be unstable in glass furnaces. In this regard glass is no different than other recyclables i.e. introduction of anything other that the base material reduces the quality of that material.
