Why Mineral Oil in birdseed?
In the bird seed industry mineral oil is used to reduce the dust levels in whole and processed grains, Mineral Oil provides the grain it comes in contact with a shiny coat and provides some protection against atmospheric moisture. Mineral oil has many uses and is safe to use, it has also not demonstrated to be harmful to birds or other wildlife. Mineral oil is commonly used as an oral laxative, lubricant in food processing plants and in beauty products.
