Why might someone want to degauss a computer monitor?
CRT monitors, cathode ray tubes, need deguassing because magnetic forces can distort colors and images. CRT monitors actually use electrons and magnetic fields within the tubes. If you have a plasma or flat screen, this isn’t an issue. However, if you have a CRT monitor, the deguassing is important as it maintains your monitor quality.
