ResTrust must contact the past employer or an authorized agent of the past employer directly in order to begin the process. If a job seeker has not provided enough detail to identity and locate the past employer, ResTrust may need to contact you. There are also times when past employers are difficult to contact because they have moved, merged, changed names or gone out of business. If the past employer no longer exists, ResTrust may contact you for W-2 or other information that can be used to verify past employment.
