Why Malaysia must change Mathematics and Sciences subject form Malay Language to English and now back to Malay?
what u r saying is right in one way but there is another school of thought which supports the argument that when a child is young and learning a new thing, it is best learnt in their mother tongue. Mostly, young children know their mother tongue better than any else and building up a base in that language gives the child a clear knowledge of the subject concerned. as for them switching to another language at a later stage, the argument is that the language is shifted to english after introducing the elementary of the subject to each child. Since, english is also being taught at the same time, children are aware of the language when they switch from one language to another. I too, find the whole scenario confusing, but this is one opinion few educationists have. It is best to leave the decision to schools so parents can decide what kind of learning they want to give to their children and thus, admitting them in the school they think is appropriate instead making it compulsory for all to
