Why Learn CSS?
When I started out building web pages, about 8 years ago the only thing to learn was HTML. That language is extremely simple stuff, especially when coupled with a program such as Front Page. Then came CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets. The idea was that HTML made for pretty rudimentary layout and design and what it did was not very efficient. The idea behind CSS was to remove design and layout elements away from HTML. To anyone with a background in programming, CSS syntax and concepts are pretty simple. For anyone else it’s a little more difficult, much more so than HTML. I stopped using Front Page years ago, in fact I stopped building web pages years ago. Then about 18 months ago I got back into things again and started using Dreamweaver, the most advanced web design program. Dreamweaver incorporates XHTML (the latest version of HTML) and CSS, into a user friendly interface, doing all the hard programming work for you.
