Why Jammu & Kashmir has different constitution from Indias constitution.?
JAMMU & KASHMIR HAS ITS SEPARATE CONSTITUTION AND ITS OWN FLAG. Except for defence, communication & external affairs no law enacted by the Parliament of india can be enacted In J& K. The flag of India can only be hoisted in J & K if the flag of J & K is hoisted before it. Mahraja Hari Singh, the Hindu king of Kashmir had unconditionally accepted the annexation of his state with India. But Nehru was a personal friend of Sheikh Abdullah a rebel leader who was against Hari Singh because he was Hindu. So Nehru bypassed Hari Singh’s accession papers and gave Abdullah the authority to decide this matter i.e., the accession of J & K with India. Abdullah made Nehru promise 2 things.
