It’s not the 1800s anymore. We have things like planes and atomic bombs now. In the past, the US could afford to be isolationist because it was a great wilderness sandwiched between 2 other wildernesses (Canada and Mexico), with an ocean both on the east and the west. It used to take weeks for a ship to arrive from Europe to America. Now it takes hours by plane. The US doesn’t have the option to be true isolationists anymore. Isolationist countries in this day and age resemble North Korea. Is that what you really want? I agree that the US should be less involved in the affairs of other countries. We have enough problems in our own country and they need attention/mending. I think a new organization needs to replace the now defunct and corrupt UN. The western world needs to stop bickering, and instead work together. One way to do this is to meet half way… the US is a bully, that is true, but Europe is often too passive.
