Why isn the Online Pacific War Encyclopedia part of Wikipedia?
Mostly because I wanted the Online Pacific War Encyclopedia to speak with a single voice, as discussed here. I also wanted to avoid making it a target for vandals or people with different agendas (example). In addition, articles about geography and economic infrastructure in a general encyclopedia like Wikipedia cannot be expected to focus on the military aspects of these topics, nor emphasize their state in 1941-1945.
