Why isn the nurse Im searching for in Nursys®?
There may be several reasons why the nurse was not located in Nursys®. Only licenses from Nursys® Licensure QuickConfirm Boards of Nursing are displayed in Nursys®. To view a list of Nursys® Licensure QuickConfirm Boards of Nursing, please click on the Nursys® Licensure QuickConfirm Boards of Nursing link. If the nurse is newly licensed, their information will be forwarded to Nursys® from their licensing board of nursing as the board submits their licensure updates to Nursys®. Temporary licenses and Advanced Practice licenses are not in the Nursys® system and cannot be verified. Contact the board of nursing of the licensing jurisdiction if verification is needed for temporary or Advanced Practice licenses. Make sure that you typed the nurse’s name or license number correctly. If the nurse has an older license, their license information is archived and will not be in Nursys®.
