Why isn the Government doing more to promote a positive image of disabled people?

0

Some time ago, the Government realised that more work was needed to change society’s attitudes to disabled people. Following a public commitment by the Prime Minister to mainstream images of disabled people into Government advertising, the then Department for Education and Employment commissioned a research project which showed that disabled people are under-represented in advertising, both Government funded and private sector. To change this, the Government launched an initiative to include images of disabled people in its advertising. All departments welcomed this initiative and are committed to supporting it.
