Make sure that the favicon.ico is in the specific directory for the page your trying to bookmark. If it is not, this will also cause it to use the default icon. If, after you bookmark the page, it still does not show the icon, check the error logs. If you find GET 404 errors, it cannot find the icon. Make sure you are using Internet Explorer 5.5 This only works for IE 5.0 and higher.
