Why isnt the cost of Duke Energys GoGreen Indiana built into rates?
A. We recognize that green energy is not for all customers. However, many customers have expressed interest in purchasing energy generated from environmentally friendly sources. Since renewable energy is typically more expensive than fossil fuel generation, Duke Energy has chosen to introduce Duke Energy’s GoGreen Indiana as a voluntary program. Customers interested in supporting the development of clean, alternative energy sources can choose the level of commitment thats right for them without impacting the rates of traditional customers.
