Why isn silicon revision XXX supported?
Some versions of silicon have anomalies that simply cannot be worked around, or the amount of effort to do so is significantly higher than we are currently willing to expend. This doesn’t mean Linux/U-Boot/etc… won’t work (sometimes they do by accident!), just that they most likely will not work and if things fail, then do not ask questions about it on the forums.
