Why isn’t petmeds a registered pharmacy?

0

Petmeds dispensing using Veterinary Surgeons instead of Pharmacists. It was formed by pet owners, therefore when it was created we had to carefully consider who was best placed to dispense animal medication. We still believe that UK registered veterinary surgeons that are practicing in the UK is best placed to advise on animal medication than a pharmacist. This important area is obviously under regular review. Our veterinary surgeons are regulated by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (www.rcvs.org.uk) and petmeds.co.uk by Veterinary Medicines Directorate (www.vmd.gov.uk). All medication supplied by petmeds.co.uk is UK licensed – we do not dispense short dated (items which will go out of date soon) or parallel imports (those items which some consider can be substituted for UK goods).
