Why isn my Winmodem automatically detected ?
You probably have a “Winmodem” and you’re probably logged in as a user. There is an issue with the current release and using modem dialup with Winmodems from user accounts. Try logging in as the root user and see if your modem is detected. If it’s still not being seen, then either the Winmodem in question isn’t supported, or the external modem in question probably isn’t connected properly.
