Using an incorrect AC adapter will set the wrong brownout threshold. GenCon’s manufactured prior to 1998 were calibrated for Radio Shack AC adapter catalog number 273-1431a. Current GenCon’s are calibrated for Radio Shack AC adapter catalog number 273-1764 with the Adapt-A-Plug (Radio Shack number 273-1708) attached so that the plug tip is positive.
