Why isn my Creative / Audigy / AC 97 or other onboard sound card working?
Many users have problems with these cards. If you can afford it, you should upgrade to a prosumer card (see FAQ above). For Soundblaster users, there is a third party driver library http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php?skip=1 which offers much better performance than the standard Creative driver.
