Why isn Fasprin® available in standard 325 mg pain-relief dosage?
Fasprin® is for heart health. Low-dose aspirin, one or two tablets taken daily provides sufficient benefit. Fasprin® is a low-dose (81 mg) tablet to avoid the adverse effects of high-dose (325 mg) aspirin tablets. Low dose aspirin is as effective as the 325 mg for cardio protective benefits. A swallowed 325 mg aspirin tablet has been shown to reduce platelet aggregation in about 25 minutes. Permanent damage to the heart starts 20 minutes after the initial symptoms of stroke. Fasprin® speed is estimated to be 3 to 5 minutes.
