Why isn Apple helping recover stolen ipods?

Interesting concept now that my daughters ipod was stolen as to why Apple does not at least provide some assistance in the recovery of products they sell and carefully control through itunes. I’ve read peoples privacy concerns and understand them fully. I too dislike the unnecessary invasion by anyone of my privacy. BUT Apples itunes MUST authorize a computer when any device is plugged in and itunes is used to transfer or buy files. I find it objectionable that a company would not at least send an email to the registered owner of the device that a new computer has been authorized with the particular device and requesting permission from the registered owner of the device before the authorization can continue…much like many forums send a verification email, requiring a reply, when signing up to a forum board. That way, if the device has been stolen, and someone is trying to use itunes to add files to it, the computer can be blocked and possibly aid in the recovery of the device. Unles
