I feel sorry for you as no one is answering your question seriously! Global warming: Examples I can think of off the top of my head are things like: The UK government has introduced a tax on short haul flights to try and reduce their popularity. It is also fundign research into things like energy efficient buildings and cars, carbon sequestration etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoto_proto… This article summarises how the world’s governments are trying to fulfill the Kyoto protocol, and this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Un… talks about the EU Emissions Trading DScheme, another attempt to reduce greenhosue gas emissions. Ozone depletion: This is a much older issue, and the ban on CFCs has improved the situation. See:

Please do not overdramatise the problem!!! Firstly scientists have only known about the ozone hole for just over forty years and no one knows whether there has always been one or not! So to rush in and try and fix something we do not have a complete knowledge of would be reckless and could have the opposite to the desired effect. Mankind is responsible for about one third of the problem. So we can try to do things wisely. However it is now established that the biofuels that were hailled as the answer are actually more poluting and produce more Nitrous Oxide which is much worse!!! Here are a few facts about the ozone layer: The ozone layer averages about 3 millimetres (1/8 inch) thick, approximately the same as two pennies stacked one on top of the other. Between 21 and 30 September 2006, (the latest certified data), the average area of the ozone hole reached 27.5 million square kilometres, roughly 3.9 million square kilometres larger than the previous year but that was due to colder-th

Yes its true, there is a lot of talk about doing something, but that is about it! To actually do something about the ice caps melting and global warming governments have to actually do something. This is something they are not good at! All they do is produce more hot air which only adds to the problem. It is upto each person do do something to make a difference!
