Why is Wusage 8.0 “heading the gifs for my domains?
A new donottouch (documents that should not be fetched) filter is available to Wusage 8.0 p14. This filter can be used to prevent Wusage 8.0 from attempting to access certain pages, as it would otherwise attempt to do in order to determine their titles and structure. Examples: donottouch /cgi-bin/scriptthatsendsemailwhenfetched #Leave this one script alone *.cgi # Leave all .cgi files alone /cgi-bin/* # Leave all cgi-bin directory contents alone Releases earlier than Wusage 8.0 p14 can prevent this if they turn off document titles and download percentages in the Wusage configuration editor. You will lose those features but the program will not fetch any documents. It is not possible to provide those features without querying the server for information about the documents. Wusage is smart enough to ignore its own accesses later when analyzing the logs, provided that your logs include web browser information, which they should.
