Why is WMZ 26 an Earn-a-Buck zone even though there were no CWD positive cases?
WMZ 26 is a zone that we are interested in testing for CWD, and we have limited samples from this zone. WMZ 26 is bordered to the north by WMZ 46 and to the south by WMZ 14 which are areas with CWD positive wild deer. Also, the Alberta CWD surveillance program found a cluster of positive wild deer adjacent to this zone in 2007 and 2008. This program will encourage more head submission.
