Why is “Wing Chun” spelled differently” ie “Ving Tsun”, “Wing Tsun” “Ving Chun”?
[back] There are a few different spellings of wing chun that represent different factions of the Wing Chun system. Not all forms of Wing Chun stem from the Yip Man lineage. Also some schools desire to differentiate themselves from one another for various political purposes. Most schools share a common approach to the art with differences being in the detail. Some schools are vastly different in their training and philosophy. As with all institutions, not all wing chun schools are equal.
