Why is Wicca a “mythology” but Christianity is a religion?
Wicca is a recognized religion, at least in the U.S., regardless of what people want to call it. Because it is relatively “new” and very different than the standard organized religions, people don’t know what to do with it, so it’s cast into the mythology sections of libraries, book stores and Yahoo Answers. It doesn’t seem weird to me, just misguided. Where it is found does not change the fact that it is indeed a religious belief system that is growing stronger every day. Eventually, it will make it’s way from the mythology section to the religion section, just as Scientology made it’s way from the self-help section to the religion section over time. **ADD** I am not Wiccan, but I am Pagan.
