Why is whaling practised by just east asian countrys?

it’s in their culture and actually, Norway ignores the ban on whaling and inuits/eskimos in Greenland, Canada and Alaska are allowed to because they depend on whales for survival and they won’t make a big impact. They also whale commercially in Iceland nowadays. In east asia like Japan they claim to do it for scientific research but then sell on the meat commercially. It’s really part of their culture like in WW2 they basically only had whale to eat because there was no other food and it’s part of their wedding ceremony and a lot of japanese whalers would have no money without whaling so they depend on it.

I don’t think you could call Norway, Iceland, or Grenada East Asian countries. But they are some of the biggest whaling nations.
