Why is WCPO-TV Channel 9 changing to a new frequency?
WCPO-TV Channel 9 is moving to its new, more powerful signal to better serve Tri-State viewers. Since last year’s digital transition, some people in hilly or outlying areas of the Cincinnati television viewing area have not been able to receive Channel 9. The station’s new, high power UHF transmission system, which is 300 times more powerful than the old one, is designed specifically to address those problems.
