Why is WakeMed Childrens expanding its Pediatrics Services?

0

Our community is growing at such a rapid rate that WakeMed Children’s must increase capacity to keep up with demand for its services. In 2007, WakeMed saw 80,000 kids (113,000 visits) in 2007 – making us one of the largest providers of children’s care in North Carolina. Also, when children from this area currently need pediatric sub-specialty services, they often have to wait for months to be seen at other health care providers within the Triangle. WakeMed Children’s could easily provide this care if it had expanded facilities to meet demand and recruited additional pediatric specialists. The JFKK will pay for this to happen.
